About NDWAA
The North Dakota Waterfowl and Agriculture Association (NDWAA) is dedicated to fostering sustainable waterfowl hunting and agriculture in North Dakota. We advocate for balanced regulations that safeguard local farmers’ interests and ensure responsible hunting practices. Our initiatives include limiting nonresident hunter numbers, shortening their hunting seasons, and implementing rest periods to reduce land competition, all aimed at boosting the local economy and preserving the natural environment for future generations.
We Need Change
Unregulated out-of-state hunting in North Dakota could severely impact the state. Local hunters face limited access, potentially losing their cultural ties to hunting. Nonresidents are driving up land prices, making it tough for locals to afford land for agriculture or hunting.
Moreover, an unchecked influx of hunters threatens to overhunt and destabilize wildlife populations, disrupting ecological balance and biodiversity. Most states regulate nonresident hunting to avoid these issues, but North Dakota has fallen behind. Immediate action is necessary to prevent lasting damage and bring North Dakota up to speed with protective measures seen elsewhere.
